Training at Highland Theological College
Highland Theological College is part of UHI, the University of the Highlands and Islands. Based in Dingwall HTC is local to us, but enables online study from anywhere. Offering a wide range of courses in Theology, HTC provides training for the Church of Scotland, but is open to everyone from every background and academic level.
Programmes range from the 'return to study' Access Course; through the Undergraduate Programme, covering from a one-year certificate to a four-year honours degree, to various Post-Graduate studies.
Study is flexible, full-time students do six modules a year, while part-time students might do one or two.
It's good to have opportunity to think in greater depth about what we believe.
Last year, HTC began a new partnership with Clèir Eilean Ì - The Pathways Course. This offers practical training in three areas of ministry - Leading Worship, Preaching, and Taking a Funeral. The aim is to equip local church leaders, an important move given the shift towards more team ministry in local churches.
